A Canadian Vacation With Demeure: A Company Offering A Different Kind of Travel Experience

Nov 14, 2013  |   Contributor: Susan Kime

The structure of a vacation sounds like an oxymoron, as structure and improvisation (that word usually defining a great vacation) seem such like such opposing concepts. But usually, there is organization to a vacation, especially if you rent from a vacation rental firm as a part of a vacation club. I wrote about Demeure, an online travel provider that operates its own travel marketplace, four years ago. I thought then, as now, that CEO and founder Peter Schwartz's vacation concepts are unique to the field, as they have substantial social and philosophical roots.

Sensitive architectural design of terracotta roof-tiles, a beige and ochre color scheme, traditional-style dwellings and natural stone pathways enables La Villa to merge seamlessly into the verdant host environment.

Le Grand Hôtel de Cala Rossa: An Elegant West Indies-Style Retreat on the Island of Corsica

Nov 7, 2013  |   Contributor: Sean Hillen

Nov 6, 2013  |   Contributor: Cynthia Dial

As a Southern Californian I’ve visited Phoenix, AZ often, but it wasn’t until my last trip that I discovered even more about this great city. Hop Onboard the Helium-Inflated Zeppelin for a Bird's Eye View of Paris

Nov 4, 2013  |   Contributor: Nicolle Monico

It’s kind of like Disney’s UP, the animated movie about an old man who secures his house to balloons and flies high atop the clouds viewing the beautiful scenery below. Only, this might be a little better and doesn’t come with a white-haired grump in the cockpit (we think). If you thought you’ve seen Paris from every angle possible, then think again, you now have another way to experience it: Airship Paris’ 246-foot helium aircraft.

New Hampshire's Manor on Golden Pond Provides an Extra Touch of Local Character

Nov 1, 2013  |   Contributor: Steve Mirsky

Sitting prominently hidden on a hillside above Route 3, Manor on Golden Pond was built in 1907 by wealthy Florida real estate investor Issac Van Horn. The hotel is named after the hit movie classic On Golden Pond starring Katherine Hepburn and Henry Fonda. The cast and crew even stayed there during the 1981 filming, which was a huge PR boost for a village of only a few specialty shops and a marina on Squam Lake. Although monumental, this movie is but one event weaved into the much broader fabric of time in New Hampshire's Lakes Region.
